Coney Hill Baptist Church

The church here at Coney Hill has been a family at the centre of its community since the Second World War.

Our Sunday Service begins at 10.30 am. However, the church is not the building or even a specific ‘meeting’ but the gathering of people of all ages and backgrounds, united by the common knowledge that God exists and that he can be known personally. We, along with all other Christian churches, believe God has shown Himself to us by sending his son, Jesus Christ. This is good news, and we want to share it. A basic outline of this central Christian message can be found below.

You will always find someone ready to explain what we believe or share what being a Christian means to us. However, if you only wish to find out what going to the church here is all about, then we will gladly welcome you among us.

As a Baptist Church, members of the London Baptist Association, the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the Evangelical Alliance, you may be interested to know that we are organised and financed entirely by ourselves. The members elect the Minister and Deacons. However, the leaders don’t run the church. We believe God guides us as we seek to work together as his people – the whole church. All the members share the responsibility of guiding the work here. Membership is open to all who have committed Jesus Christ and his Church.

Our voluntary offerings can be left in one of the baskets in the foyer and are only for those regular and committed members of the congregation and provide the only means of supporting the work here. Individual giving, whether through loose cash or envelopes at the offering, standing orders, tax covenants or online, is another aspect of our commitment to Christ and his work through us.
